AFP, USINDOPACOM Complete Successful Bilateral Maritime Exercise

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), successfully conducted a Bilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity (MCA) in the West Philippine Sea from June 14 to 19, marking the fourth PH–US MCA conducted this 2026.

AFP joins 128th Philippine Independence Day Commemoration

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City —  The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) joined the nation in commemorating the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence through its participation in the Flag-Raising and Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Rizal National Monument and the Parada ng Kalayaan at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on June 12, 2026.

Gen Brawner Jr, US Sec Kendall discuss PH-US military alliance

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and United States Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall discussed Philippine-United States military alliance during the latter’s courtesy visit on April 5 to the AFP General Headquarters here.

The two affirmed the continuation of military engagements and cooperative work, including maritime cooperative activity, bilateral exercises, and EDCA sites projects, as a message to the world of the ironclad alliance between the two countries.

For his part, the CSAFP extended the AFP’s appreciation of the US’ support and assistance not just in addressing challenges in the West Philippine Sea, but to the AFP and the Philippines in general. 

He also vowed to maintain military presence and sustain the troops deployed in various stations in the area, especially in Ayungin Shoal.

“BRP Sierra Madre represents our collective will to protect the integrity of our territory and defend our sovereignty and sovereign rights. It is our right and our obligation to sustain our troops stationed there,” General Brawner Jr said.
