The Armed Forces of the Philippines affirms its friendship with all Muslims worldwide during the Iftar for Peace Partners on April 18, a celebration spearheaded by the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity for the end of Ramadan.
The event at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City was organized to gather and recognize "peace champions" who fostered peace, amity, and unity amidst cultural and religious diversity. Over 110 representatives from various sectors attended the event.
"The Armed Forces of the Philippines is one with the Muslims across the globe in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, a month for fasting, introspection, piety, charity, and prayers," said the AFP Chief of Staff General Andres Centino in a solidarity message read by The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP, LtGen Charlton Sean Gaerlan PN(M).
He added that the Iftar articulates the common sentiment of overcoming differences and recognizing opportunities to build, restore, and sustain. "Notably, we are achieving great milestones in the peace efforts of the government and substantial gains of the peace process are truly inspiring," the CSAFP added./// (Photo by PO3 Viluan Ret/PAO, AFP)
