Joint Special Operations Group Celebrates 21st Anniversary

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Joint Special Operations Group (JSOG) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) celebrated its anniversary on August 7, 2024, with a ceremony held at Tejeros Hall here. General Romeo Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the AFP, graced the event as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

In his address, General Brawner Jr. highlighted the pivotal role of the JSOG in maintaining national security and combating various threats to peace and stability. He commended the members of the JSOG for their unwavering dedication, exceptional skills, and their numerous successful missions that have significantly contributed to the safety and security of the nation.

"The Joint Special Operations Group stands as a testament to the bravery, resilience, and professionalism of our elite forces," General Brawner Jr. said. "Your commitment to excellence and your tireless efforts in executing high-risk operations have been instrumental in safeguarding our country from various threats. Today, we celebrate not only your achievements but also the spirit of camaraderie and unity that binds you as a formidable force."

The anniversary celebration featured a series of activities, including the awarding of distinguished personnel for their outstanding performance and contributions. The event also served as an opportunity to reaffirm the group's dedication to their mission and to honor the sacrifices made by its members in the line of duty.

The JSOG, under the Special Operations Command (SOCOM), continues to play a crucial role in the AFP's efforts to address complex security challenges.
