MGen Galido assumes as new WESMINCOM commander

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The AFP installed MGen Roy M Galido PA as the new commander of the Western Mindanao Command (WESMINCOM) in a change of command ceremony on Friday, January 20, presided by the CSAFP, General Andres C Centino PA, at the WESMINCOM headquarters in Zamboanga City.

MGen Galido is the current commander of the 6th Infantry Division and formerly led the 601st Infantry Brigade and 38th Infantry Battalion. He is a member of PMA’s “Bigkis Lahi” Class of 1990. He replaced MGen Arturo G Rojas PN(M), who has stood as WESMINCOM’s acting commander since October last year and will assume as Commander, Special Operations Command, AFP.

“You have shown your capability as a responsive and adaptable leader in your various assignments. It is without doubt that your distinct capacity in intelligence, combat operations, CMO, and resource management will heighten your capability as a leader as you face new and bigger challenges and opportunities here in WESMINCOM,” General Centino said in praise of MGen Galido.///
