
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) rendered traditional military funeral honors to its former Chief of Staff, General Lisandro Abadia on Saturday, January 29 at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani in Fort Bonifacio.
Appropriate final honors were rendered, including the 21 gun salute, and the taps and volley of fire during his interment.
Before he was laid to rest, General Abadia was accorded necrological rites and departure honors at the St. Ignatius Cathedral in Camp Aguinaldo during the last day of wake on Friday.
General Abadia was a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1962. He served as AFP Chief of Staff from 1991 to 1994 under the administration of then President Corazon C. Aquino.(Photos by SN1 Donald Viluan PN/PAOAFP)
