PH–US Troops Break Ground on New Classroom in El Nido

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- Filipino and United States military personnel, together with local officials and educators, led the groundbreaking of a two-classroom building at New Ibajay Elementary School in El Nido, Palawan on March 27, under JCMOTG–ENCAP Site 5 of the Exercise Balikatan 41-26.

The project delivers a direct, high-impact response to classroom shortages, helping decongest facilities and improve learning conditions for students.

Under the Humanitarian and Civic Assistance of the Exercise Balikatan, the project reflects the Philippines–U.S. partnership in action—linking defense cooperation with tangible community development.

With the Exercise Balikatan set to formally commence this April, similar HCA activities are expected to be implemented, continuing the tradition of coupling joint military training with meaningful community engagement.///
