CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — The Philippine Army’s Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), known for their "courage and determination", commemorated today in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija its 61st Founding Anniversary with the theme: "SFRA: Competent, Resilient, and Effective SOF through the Years."
The Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP) General Andres C Centino PA joined the celebration with President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. and the Defense Secretary, Gilbert C Teodoro Jr. in Palayan City.
President Marcos lauded the Special Forces for their contributions to maintaining peace and dealing with security threats in the country.
"On this glorious occasion, we recognize the fortitude and prowess of the men and women in the Special Forces who have dedicated their lives to public service. You have not only played pivotal roles in times of battle but have also become dependable sentinels for the Filipino people," said President Marcos Jr.
SFRA troops, one of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Special Operations Forces (SOF), also showcased their skills in unconventional warfare and special operations through a capability demonstration during their anniversary program.
"For over 6 decades, our unit has exemplified the pinnacle of dedication, courage and commitment to serving our beloved nation. I enjoin the men and women of the Special Forces Regiment to reaffirm our dedication to serving the Filipino people with confidence, resilience, and efficiency, and push the boundaries of what is possible, " said SFR(A) Commander, BGen Ferdinand B Napuli PA.//
