Philippine Marine Corps Celebrates 75 Years of Service

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) marked its 75th founding anniversary with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. lauding the Marines’ courage and reaffirming his administration’s commitment to further strengthen the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) through sustained modernization and capability upgrades.

“Under my watch, we will continue to provide you the means to match the mandate that you bear. Be assured that the government is prioritizing the modernization of your combat capabilities, investing in establishing strategic bases, revitalizing our Self-Reliant Defense Posture Program, and strengthening maritime domain awareness.” the Commander-in-Chief said.

The event which was held at the Gallio Events Hall in Parañaque, was also attended by the AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr.

The anniversary celebration featured a presentation of honors to outstanding Marines and units, the traditional cake-cutting ceremony symbolizing unity and brotherhood, and a commemorative video tracing the Corps’ 75-year journey.

From its beginnings as a small volunteer contingent in 1950, the Philippine Marine Corps has evolved into a modern, archipelagic coastal defense force—an enduring symbol of bravery and commitment that continues to safeguard the country’s sovereignty.///
