Today, as we celebrate the 89th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, we honor the courage and sacrifice of every soldier, sailor, marine, airman, and reservist.
This milestone marks nearly nine decades of dedicated service, and it serves as a reminder of the great responsibility entrusted to us – to safeguard our nation, protect our democracy, and uphold the values that bind us as one people.
Throughout our history, the AFP has been a steadfast pillar of strength – not only in times of conflict, but also in peace-building, humanitarian efforts, and the protection of the rights and freedoms of every Filipino. The anniversary theme for this year, “AFP@89:Sandigan ng Bayan Tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas,” challenges us to continue this mission with renewed vigor and determination.
As we reflect on 89 years of service, let us remember that our strength comes from working together, united by our shared mission. It is through our collective effort that we fulfill our duty and contribute to a better future for our fellow Filipinos.
