READ | Statement of the AFP Chief of Staff, General Romeo S Brawner Jr, on the CPP’s 56th Founding Anniversary

The Armed Forces of the Philippines remains steadfast in its mission to end the decades-long insurgency and render the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and its armed wing, the New People’s Army (NPA), irrelevant to the nation’s future. Through decisive operations and a whole-of-nation approach, their capabilities have been significantly crippled, with only one weakened guerrilla front set for dismantling.

Today, the CPP-NPA faces a leadership vacuum, shrinking membership, and diminished operational capabilities. Despite this, the AFP remains vigilant against any attempts to disrupt the lives of law-abiding citizens.

We urge the remaining members of the CPP-NPA to abandon their armed struggle, reunite with their families, and contribute to peaceful and progressive communities. The AFP, in collaboration with other agencies, is committed to supporting those who surrender through various reintegration programs by the govenrment. Let us work together for lasting peace and a better future for all Filipinos.
