Religious Leaders Offers Prayers for AFP’s Resolve in Upholding the Constitution and the Rule of Law

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), under the steadfast leadership of Chief of Staff General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., gathered in a stirring assembly today at the AFP Grandstand alongside the nation’s respected religious leaders from various sectors.

In the presence of faith leaders and the nation they serve, AFP personnel renewed their sacred oath to remain non-partisan and to defend the Constitution. It was a moment that rekindled a deep sense of patriotism—reminding the country that its defenders remain firmly rooted in principles of protecting the State, its people, its sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Bishop Noel Pantoja of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) led heartfelt prayers, calling upon divine guidance, wisdom, and strength for the men and women of the AFP. His words echoed across the grandstand like a prayer for the entire nation—a reminder that in moments of uncertainty, the Filipino spirit finds courage in faith, unity, and truth.

“Panginoon…pagkaisahin Mo ang sambayanang Pilipino upang manatiling tagapagdala at tagapagtanggol ng kapayapaan. Nawa’y manaig ang katotohanan, katwiran, kagalingan, at tunay na pagkakaisa. At sa bawat kasapi ng Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas—ingatan Mo sila, palakasin, at gabayan sa tapat na paglilingkod sa Inyong bayan,” Bishop Pantoja’s prayer during the assembly. His prayer further stirred the heart of every Filipino soldier reaffirming their duty, honor, and the solemn promise for the fulfillment of their mandate.

General Brawner also reminded the troops to honor their oath—serving with professionalism, honor, and integrity, remaining loyal to the Constitution, and letting the rule of law guide their every action.

In a time overshadowed by challenges and disinformation, the AFP stands firm, unshaken in its mission and unwavering in its resolve. It remains the nation’s shield—disciplined, principled, and resolute in defending democracy. Strengthened by faith and purpose, we rise and remain united.///
