ROTC wins in latest national cadets games

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--Senator Francis Tolentino lauded the just concluded national championships of the Reserve Officers Training Course (ROTC) Games for fulfilling its goal to raise awareness on and rally support for the military training program for the youth.

The ROTC Games held its closing ceremony on October 28 at the Philippine Air Force Gymnasium in Pasay City and awarded the cadets who scored a podium finish in different professionally sanctioned events.

"Marami pa pong kulang, mahaba-habang brainstorming ito. Pero iyong pag e-elevate sa consciousness ng ating mamamayan sa ROTC Program, palagay ko dumating doon," Tolentino said. "Ngayon nanunumbalik iyong pagkilala sa ROTC Program. Hindi mandatory pero buhay pa ang ROTC."

Likewise, General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff AFP, said that the ROTC Games showed a preview of the youth’s potential and expressed optimism in the program’s capability to prepare young Filipinos to support the government in hurdling local and global challenges.

“You are the hope and future of our great nation. The ROTC games showcased your remarkable potential and dedication. This is a glimpse of how we can work together and achieve success as ROTC and reserve force members. Because of what’s happening around the world, it is important that we are prepared and we can do this through the ROTC,” General Brawner said.
