CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City— The Vice Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (VCSAFP), Lieutenant General Arthur Cordura, welcomed Lieutenant General Joshua M. Rudd, Deputy Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command (US INDOPACOM), to the AFP General Headquarters during the latter’s courtesy call on October 23 here.
The visit was an opportunity to reinforce the long-standing defense and security relationship between the Philippines and the United States. Both generals discussed the continuation of joint initiatives, including humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) operations, capacity-building programs, and cooperative security measures aimed at addressing regional security challenges.
LtGen Cordura expressed the AFP's appreciation for the continued support of US INDOPACOM in enhancing the interoperability of the Philippine military with its US counterparts. The meeting underscored the shared commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region through close collaboration and mutual cooperation.
