CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) concluded the 45th National Reservist Week with a culminating ceremony held on September 14 here, paying homage to the nation's reservists.
The ceremony was attended by Senator Francis Tolentino who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS). He was joined by Defense Undersecretary Irineo Espino and AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr.
A highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of outstanding reservists and units for their exceptional service to the nation. These awards underscored the significant role of the AFP Reserve Force in contributing to national security and development.
The ceremony also featured a range of capability demonstrations by various AFP reserve units, showcasing their readiness to support the regular force in national defense and disaster response. The event also included performances by celebrity reservists.
National Reservist Week is based on Proclamation No. 627 series of 1995 and is a significant event that recognizes the vital role of the AFP Reserve Force in national defense and development. Through various activities and ceremonies, the celebration aims to enhance public awareness and appreciation for the reservists’ dedication and service to the country.
