AFP Celebrates TAG Transition, Salutes BGen Fortez’s Service

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) held a Change of Chief of Office and Retirement Ceremony for Brigadier General Bernardo R Fortez Jr, The Adjutant General (TAG), AFP, as he retires from service, today, June 4, at Tejeros Hall, AFP Commissioned Officers Country, here.
The ceremony which was presided over by Lieutenant General Jimmy D Larida PN(M), Vice Chief of Staff, AFP, marked both the turnover of responsibilities and a celebration of dedicated service rendered by BGen Fortez throughout his distinguished military career.

Before serving as The Adjutant General, he led the Office of the Army Adjutant (OAA). A Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Sambisig” Class of 1991 graduate, BGen Fortez also holds a Master’s degree in Public Management and a Master in National Security Administration. His service was crucial in maintaining the AFP's administrative backbone and ensuring integrity in record-keeping.

Captain Ramilo B Trinidad PN (GSC), the current Assistant TAG and a member of PMA "Marilag" Class of 1995, will assume the critical role of Acting The Adjutant General, AFP.

The position of The Adjutant General is a cornerstone in the AFP’s personnel management and administrative structure. As the chief administrative officer, the TAG is entrusted with safeguarding the integrity of military records, enforcing personnel policies, and ensuring the efficient delivery of administrative services across the armed forces. This event is more than a ceremonial tradition—it is a celebration of legacy, transition, and institutional resilience.///
