CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- General Romeo S Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), reaffirmed the AFP’s commitment to strengthening grassroots security as he visited the CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) Patrol Base at Barangay Catangan, General Luna, Surigao del Norte, on June 20.
General Brawner’s visit aimed to boost the morale of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) personnel serving in far-flung areas. During his speech, CSAFP announced the increase in the monthly allowance of CAFGU members, recognizing their vital role in maintaining peace and security at the community level.
To further show support, General Brawner personally led the distribution of new sets of uniforms to CAFGU members stationed in the area. The initiative is part of the AFP's ongoing effort to provide adequate logistical support to auxiliary forces deployed in remote barangays.
The visit is part of a series of outreach and support missions by the AFP leadership to ensure that all members of the armed services, including auxiliary units, are well-equipped, motivated, and recognized.
