CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City –The Naval Air Wing of the Philippine Navy was challenged by the AFP Chief to go beyond what is asked of the unit during its anniversary celebration, October 18 in Sangley Point, Cavite City.
“May we forever prioritize safety as a cornerstone of our operational success. Together, we will uphold the core values of the Naval Air Wing – soaring safely towards unparalleled excellence. I would like to challenge you to try to surpass the limits that you have set for your unit. Mahirap ang trabaho ng isang aviator, especially when you will be flying for missions to ensure the territorial integrity of our country,” Gen Romeo Brawner Jr., Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff (CSAFP) said.
Under the powerful banner, “Flying safely towards Excellence and Professionalism,” Brawner Jr. graced the Naval Air Wing’s 76th Founding Anniversary as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
With the recent 6th-year celebration of Marawi City’s liberation, the CSAFP also acknowledged the impact of the Naval Air Wing for their swift response and crucial support to the ground forces during the Marawi Siege.
“The Naval Air Wing fulfills a vital mission in ensuring the safety and security of our nation’s airspace and maritime territories. Through relentless training and an unwavering commitment to safety, the Naval Air Wing has rightfully earned its reputation as a dependable and formidable force of the Philippine Navy,” said General Brawner.
General Brawner Jr. also honored the men and women of the Naval Air Wing for their dedication to duty and encouraged them to renew their commitment to excellence and professionalism.
With their 76-year history, the Naval Air Wing remains at the forefront of the country’s maritime defense by conducting air and naval operations and continues to prove their role as a defender of our nation and guardian of our freedom.///
