In a united front to safeguard democracy, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) joined forces with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), in an inter-agency command conference held on April 11 here, in preparation for the 2025 elections be conducted in an orderly and credible manner.
The meeting was attended by AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr, COMELEC Chairperson George Erwin Garcia, PNP Chief Police General Rommel D Marbil, and PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan. Together, they covered detailed security assessments, deployment strategies, and contingency measures to address potential election-related challenges.
In his remarks, General Brawner emphasized the AFP’s commitment to protecting the will of the people and supporting the rule of law during the electoral process, “The AFP stands firm in its mandate and supports a whole-of-government approach to ensure a secure, honest, and credible 2025 election.”
This initiative is part of a broader effort to uphold democratic values and ensure that every Filipino can vote freely and safely, emphasizing the importance of unity and coordination in safeguarding the integrity of the 2025 elections.
