CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) formally concluded the 9th iteration of the AFP Joint Exercise (AJEX) “DAGIT-PA” 09-2025 today, with Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C Teodoro Jr. serving as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the closing ceremony.
Conducted from November 4 to 14 across Luzon and Palawan, this year’s AJEX highlighted not only joint force interoperability but also the AFP’s agility and resilience in responding to real-world contingencies. As Super Typhoon Uwan battered parts of Northern Luzon, the AFP swiftly shifted several participating units to humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) operations, demonstrating the flexibility and operational readiness that the exercise seeks to strengthen.

AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr. lauded the troops for upholding mission readiness despite disruptions brought by the typhoon. “In the midst of our exercises,
nature itself challenged us through Super Typhoon Uwan. Yet even as we paused the drills, our mission did not stop. You—all of you-showed what it truly means to serve: to be ready, to respond, and to protect,” General Brawner said.

As AJEX 09-2025 closes, the AFP reaffirms its commitment to continuously honing joint capabilities, enhancing inter-agency synergy, and ensuring that the Armed Forces remain prepared to protect the nation and its people in all domains and under all conditions.
