AFP holds Nationwide Blood Donation Drive to save lives and support communities

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reaffirmed its dedication to serving the Filipino people by saving lives through a nationwide blood donation activity conducted on Sunday, 08 December 2024 here at the Lapu-Lapu Grandstand.
The initiative, titled “Dugong Alay Mo, Sandigan ng Buhay Ko,” highlights the AFP’s commitment to going beyond its traditional duties, extending its heroism to acts of compassion and public service that directly benefit communities.
Organized in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay (DADB) Foundation, the program was carried out simultaneously across various locations nationwide, led by the AFP Major Services, Unified Commands, and Joint Task Force NCR.

This effort aligns with the advocacy of the DOH and DADB to ensure the availability of blood during the lean inventory period in December and January, when donations typically decline due to holiday schedules and seasonal illnesses.
The AFP-wide blood donation is a testament to the organization’s unwavering commitment to its mandate of protecting and serving the Filipino people, whether through securing the nation or promoting community welfare and public health. ///
