CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines welcomed Brigadier General Llewillyn S Banaag as the AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Education, Training and Doctrine, J8, in a change of chief of office ceremony held today, December 10, here. The event was presided over by AFP’s The Inspector General, LtGen Augustine S Malinit.
BGen Banaag, is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Sambisig” Class of 1991. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Deputy Commander of the Air Force Reserve Command and held various significant positions, including Director for Operations at the Air Education, Training and Doctrine Command (AETDC) and Chief of Command Staff at the Air Mobility Command (AMC). He succeeded BGen Krishnamurti A Mortela who served in an acting capacity.
In his remarks, LtGen Malinit expressed his gratitude to BGen Mortela for his outstanding service and leadership during his tenure, while also extending his confidence in BGen Banaag’s ability to continue advancing the AFP’s Education, Training, and Doctrine programs.
The transition of leadership underscores the continued progress and innovation within AFP’s educational and training initiatives ensuring the professional development of its personnel and capabilities.
