CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - The Armed Forces of the Philippines held a Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony, honoring Brigadier General Fermin Carangan as he stepped down from his post as AFP Procurement Service Commander on November 18, here.
The ceremony was presided over by AFP Vice Chief of Staff LtGen Arthur Cordura, marking the retirement of BGen Carangan, who officially handed over his duties to the incoming Acting AFP Procurement Service Commander, Colonel Crisanto Prado.
Prior his appointment, BGen Carangan served as AFP’s Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations, J7. He is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992.
Meanwhile, Colonel Prado served as Director of the Philippine Army Support Command’s Research and Development Center. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Management major in Development and Security at the Development Academy of the Philippines.
In his remarks, LtGen Cordura commended BGen Carangan for his dedication and contributions to the AFP, emphasizing his role in strengthening the organization’s procurement processes. He also expressed confidence in Col. Prado’s leadership and ability to sustain and further enhance the AFP Procurement Service’s mission.
