AFP Hosts the United Nations Assessment and Advisory Visit to Bolster Peacekeeping Readiness

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - In compliance with the United Nations’ peacekeeping operations, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) hosted the UN Assessment and Advisory Visit (AAV) on November 18, 2024, here. The visit was presided over by AFP Vice Chief of Staff LtGen Arthur Cordura.
The AAV is scheduled from 17 to 23 November 2024. The UN AAV team will conduct a comprehensive assessment, including strategic and technical evaluations. Key areas of focus include personnel selection and training, equipment functionality, and the AFP’s ability to sustain and support deployed forces effectively. The AFP’s Major Services—the Army, Air Force, and Navy—are actively participating, alongside supporting units specializing in logistics, intelligence, and operations.

The AAV serves as a vital opportunity for the AFP to align its operations with global standards, solidifying its role as a reliable partner in promoting peace and stability worldwide.
