CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (TDCSAFP), Lieutenant General Rommel P Roldan, welcomed Ms. Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), in a courtesy visit held on August 19, here.

Lt. General Roldan expressed the AFP’s appreciation for the ICRC’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian work in the Philippines. The visit also provided an opportunity to strengthen mutual understanding and enhance ongoing efforts in humanitarian engagement, including field operations, dialogue on international humanitarian law, and training programs for AFP personnel.

The meeting underscores the continued partnership between the AFP and the ICRC in promoting international humanitarian law (IHL) and ensuring that humanitarian principles are respected in all military operations.
