AFP joins Commemoration of 82nd Day of Valor

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) joined the nation in honoring the 82nd Anniversary of Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) at Mt. Samat National Shrine in Pilar, Bataan on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

General Romeo S Brawner Jr, attended the ceremony led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. Under the theme 'Honoring Veterans' Valor: Foundation for a United Filipino People,' the commemoration signified a solemn tribute to the unwavering courage and sacrifices of our veterans, whose valor serves as the foundation for a united Filipino people. 

During the ceremony, President Marcos Jr., joined by United States of America (USA) Charge d'Affaires Robert Ewing and Ambassador Endo Kazuya of Japan, laid wreaths at the historic monument, paying homage to the fallen heroes whose sacrifices continue to inspire generations.

“As we commemorate this historic day, let us not only reflect on the sacrifices of the past but also reaffirm our commitment to upholding the principles of democracy, peace, and freedom for which our forefathers fought so valiantly,” General Brawner said in a statement.///
