CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - General Romeo Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), urged senior enlisted leaders of the military to adjust to present day challenges during the closing ceremony of Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum 2024 in Palawan on April 12, 2024.
The forum gathered the AFP's different sergeants major to elicit policy recommendations pertaining to the training, morale and welfare, troop discipline and other matters concerning the enlisted personnel of the AFP.
In his message, General Brawner Jr., expressed his gratitude to all participants for their active engagement and valuable contributions towards fostering camaraderie and enhancing cooperation. He highlighted the importance of such forums in promoting military capabilities, and fostering a culture of innovation within the armed forces as the AFP’s focus shift from Internal Security Operations (ISO) to territorial defense.
“Yung studies and proposals na ibinigay ninyo ay pag-aaralan namin sa General Headquarters, as we shift to territorial defense and as we modernize the Armed Forces, kailangan din mag-adjust tayo. Marami tayong mga kailangan na expertise. As we fight for the next battle, we have to ensure that we are competent," General Brawner Jr said, as he challenged senior enlisted leaders to sustain their high level of engagement, recognizing their pivotal role in the overall performance of the Armed Forces.
