The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) officially launched the 2025 Philippine Uniformed Services Dependents Sports League on May 20 with an opening ceremony held here, emphasizing camaraderie, discipline, and support for the families of uniformed personnel.
The annual sports league brings together the dependents of active personnel and civilian human resources from the AFP, Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Representing AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr., BGen Armand M Arevalo, Commander of the GHQ and Headquarters Support Command (HSC), led the event. In his remarks, BGen Arevalo underscored the significance of unity among the various uniformed services and highlighted the critical role of family in the strength of the nation's security forces.
“This league holds great promise—it provides a meaningful space for our dependents to develop character, leadership, and discipline. These are values that echo the core principles of our uniformed services,” said BGen Arevalo. “Let this event serve as a powerful reminder that behind every uniformed service member stands a family who shares in the sacrifices, challenges, and the pride of serving the nation,” he added.
