CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) successfully convened the AFP Leadership Summit 2025 on November 27, anchored on the theme “Leading Transformation Towards Peaceful Environments,” the summit reaffirmed the nation’s whole-of-government commitment to strengthening defense capabilities, deepening civil-military cooperation, and promoting sustainable peace.
The summit brought together distinguished national leaders, security experts, and senior government officials committed to building a safer, more peaceful Philippines. Among the key figures were Retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio T Carpio; Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan, Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard; former AFP Chief of Staff Retired General Emmanuel T Bautista; and Dr. Karl Kendrick T. Chua, former Cabinet Secretary.
Representing AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr., Major General Elmer B Suderio, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, J3, highlighted the unified AFP action in securing the nation’s maritime territories. Senior Undersecretary Isidro L Purisima, speaking on behalf of Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr., emphasized inclusive peacebuilding and multi-sector collaboration.
The AFP Leadership Summit 2025 ended with a unified call for strong, principled leadership rooted in cooperation, resilience, and foresight to ensure peaceful environments and protect the nation’s future.
