The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in a ceremony held on September 25 to strengthen cooperation in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery nationwide.
Representing AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr., Brigadier General Edgar C Torres, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, presided over the ceremony alongside PDRF President Rene Meily. The event highlighted the vital role of collaboration between the military and the private sector in advancing joint initiatives for disaster risk reduction and management.
The MOU reaffirms the AFP and PDRF’s commitment to a whole-of-nation approach to disaster resilience, ensuring timely and effective actions to safeguard lives and livelihoods.
