CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines reaffirmed its full commitment to safeguard the first-ever Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE) during a Command Conference with defense and military leaders on September 6, 2025 at Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
The commitment was reinforced during a high-level consultation led by Secretary of National Defense (SND) Gilberto C Teodoro, Jr. The AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr, along with Philippine Army Commanding General LtGen Antonio G Nafarrete and other key AFP officials, was present to receive the Defense Chief’s directive to ensure the success of the historic polls.
Secretary Teodoro underscored the significance of the BPE as a milestone in the ongoing peace process in Mindanao and the democratic journey of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
This engagement reinforced the AFP’s vital role in ensuring that the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections are free, orderly, and peaceful, contributing to lasting peace, democracy, and development in the region.///
