CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) welcomed Shri Giridhar Aramane, Defence Secretary of India, during his courtesy visit to the AFP General Headquarters on September 11, 2024. Shri Aramane, along with the Indian defense and military delegation, was received by the Vice Chief of Staff of the AFP, Lieutenant General Arthur Cordura, and senior military officers of the AFP.
The visit highlighted the deepening defense and security partnership between the Philippines and India, underscoring shared commitments to regional stability and cooperation. Discussions during the visit focused on enhancing bilateral defense relations, exploring opportunities for joint training and exercises, and sharing best practices in addressing common security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
