CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr, formally welcomed thirty-five (35) newly promoted officers of the AFP, including the Philippine Navy (PN) Flag Officer-in-Command, VAdm Jose Ma. Ambrosio Q. Ezpeleta, during a courtesy visit following their oath-taking before the President on February 20, 2025.
There were 17 newly promoted officers from the Philippine Army namely: LtGen Ferdinand T Barandon, MGen Ferdinand B Napuli, MGen Cerilo C Balaoro Jr, MGen Adonis Ariel G Orio, MGen Joseph Norwin D Pasamonte, BGen Walter P Icaro, BGen Cesar A Molina, BGen Hubert S Acierto, BGen Rosendo C Abad Jr, BGen Michael G Logico, BGen Ted B Dumosmog, BGen Constancio M Espina II, BGen Roderick A Balbanero, BGen Allan Jose L Taguba, BGen Jose Ambrosio F Rustia, BGen Ronald Jess S Alcudia, and BGen Alaric Avelino P Delos Santos.
A total of eight ( 8 officers were also promoted from the Philippine Air Force: LtGen Augustine S Malinit, MGen Ramil G Oloroso, BGen Moises L Micor, BGen Paulo C Teodoro, BGen Jonathan M Aquino, BGen Jose Bonifacio F Calub, BGen Joel A Inacay, and BGen Joseph P Archog.
Aside from VAdm Ezpeleta, among the nine (9) Philippine Navy and Marine officers promoted were: RAdm Alan M Javier, RAdm Florante N Gagua, RAdm Juario C Marayag, MGen Simplitius G Adecer, MGen Ivan DR Papera, Commo Raul Regis, Commo Alex V Gianan, and BGen Bob R Apostol.
BGen Jonna D Dalaguit from the Technical and Administrative Service was also promoted.
Additionally, nine (9) lieutenants who recently completed their pre-commission training abroad were recognized for graduating from prestigious military academies: 2LT Marcy M Lagua from the Republic of Korea Military Academy (ROKMA); 2LT Jim Adrienne Mae G Ruiz from the Republic of Korea Naval Academy (ROKNA); ENS Kristianne SJ Otiong from the US Naval Academy (USNA); 2LT Rene Vince R Martin from the Republic of Korea Air Force Academy (ROKAFA); 2LT Carlo Kyle O Putan and 2LT Brian Adam A Chagas from the Japan National Defense Academy (JNDA) Air Force; 2LT Charles Javier J Calapini and 2LT Ruel G Biniahan from the US Air Force Academy (USAFA); and 2LT Allen Francis Ed Asilao from the US Military Academy (USMA).
The ceremony served as a testament to the AFP's continuous commitment to developing strong military leadership and recognizing excellence within its ranks. General Brawner emphasized the significance of the officers' promotion, underscoring their greater responsibilities in upholding national security, sovereignty, and the welfare of the Filipino people.
