
CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — The Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff, General Andres Centino, welcomed the delegates of the Study Tour Visit of the National Defense College United Arab Emirates (NDC UAE) at the AFP General Headquarters on March 13, 2023.
In a brief meeting, the CSAFP greeted the 19-member UAE delegation headed by Brigadier Staff Pilot Khalifa Butti Thani Alshamsi.
"It is important to realize that there are better things seen from the outside," said the CSAFP during a conversation with the Head of the Delegation. He expressed his pleasure in the delegation's visit as it was an opportunity to build relations with allies.
He emphasized the significance of dynamic exchanges of information to acquire better perspectives and create good relations with the country's partners and allies. Furthermore, he encouraged the pursuit of more robust defense and security cooperation between the two countries.
Likewise, the CSAFP urged the delegates to enjoy their week-long stay in the Philippines.
In like manner, BGen Alshamsi thanked the CSAFP for welcoming their team and shared the NDC UAE's objective of sharing perspectives about policies and strategies.
The study tour and visit, which runs from March 11 to 18, aims to develop mutual understanding and foster good defense relations between the Philippines and UAE.
