Army Troops Rescue and Assist Stranded Civilians in Flood-Hit Mangatarem, Pangasinan

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — Troops from the 71st Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army conducted a series of rescue operations and provided transportation assistance to flood-affected residents in several sitios of Barangay Dorongan, Mangatarem, Pangasinan, on July 22.
In close coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), soldiers rescued and evacuated families from Sitio Papalyasen, Sitio Ketaket, and Sitio Sawat—communities heavily affected by continuous rains and rising floodwaters.
 
On the same day, the battalion’s Search, Rescue, and Retrieval (SRR) Team also responded to reports of stranded civilians in other parts of Mangatarem, ensuring their safe transport to secure areas.
