The Philippine Navy vessel BRP Bacolod City (LS550) arrived yesterday, 09 November 2022 at the the 2Lt Lagare Pier in Puerto Princesa City, together with the personnel and assets of 3rd Infantry Division and 15th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army who are participating in the AFP Joint Exercise DAGITPA 2022.
"Western Command cordially welcomes our gallant Army comrades to the Western Frontier all the way from Roxas City, Capiz," said Vice Admiral Alberto B Carlos PN, the Commander of Western Command.
LS 550 provided sealift to the Army components who will be participating in the field training exercise (FTX) events in Punta Baja, Rizal Palawan such as the Combined Arms and Littoral Live Fire Exercise (CALLFEX), Urban Warfare, and Closed Quarter Combat.
The Philippine Army contingent will utilize their new C-206 aircraft, armoured vehicles, CBRNE capabilities, K9 Teams, and Explosive Ordnance Division teams during the exercises in WESCOM's Joint Operations Area.
"This multiservice exercise will develop and enhance our skills, capabilities and interoperability as One AFP in joint operations at sea, air, and land, as well as in cyber domain which will further capacitate us in performing our mission of protecting the people and the state," Vice Admiral Carlos said.### (Photo courtesy of WESCOM)
