Two A-29 Super Tucanos with tail numbers 1902 and 1905, and a Black Hawk with tail Number 106 arrived on November 9-10 in Antonio Bautista Air Base as Philippine Air Force's commitment to the ongoing AFP Joint Exercise DAGITPA 2022 in Western Command's Joint Operations Area.
"We welcome with pride our Philippine Air Force pilots, crew, and modern fleet of aircraft here in the Western Frontier," Vice Admiral Alberto B Carlos PN, the Commander WESCOM said.
The Super Tucanos have demonstrated their versatility in being deployed for various missions such as close air support, light attack, surveillance, air-to-air interception, counter-insurgency missions, and advanced training.
On the other hand, the S-70i Black Hawk combat utility helicopter is highly dependable for search and rescue missions, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and troop transport across the archipelagic country.
"WESCOM's joint air power is crucial in maintaining our presence and providing immediate response to any crisis and emergency in Palawan and the West Philippine Sea. We are confident of the capability of our aviation teams from the Air Force, Navy, and Army we are having now to accomplish such mandate," Vice Admiral Carlos added. ###
