CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr donned new ranks to fourteen (14) newly-promoted Generals/Flag, and Senior Reservist Officers in a ceremony held on November 5, here.
The promoted officers from the Philippine Army were LtGen Ferdinand T Barandon, Commander of the newly activated Armed Forces Intelligence Command (AIC); MGen Rommel R Cordova, Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans, J5; BGen Constancio M Espina, Commander of AFP’s Communications, Electronics, and Information System Service; and BGen Gerard V Velez, Commander of the Civil-Military Affairs Brigade, AFP Reserve Command.
Promoted officers of the Philippine Air Force were LtGen Augustine S Malinit, AFP’s The Inspector General; BGen Paulo C Teodoro, Assistant Superintendent, Philippine Military Academy; and BGen Joseph P Archog, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans, AJ5.
Among Philippine Navy officers were LtGen Jimmy D Larida, The AFP Deputy Chief of Staff; MGen Simplitus G Adecer, Deputy Commander of AIC; MGen Ivan DR Papera, Chief of AFP Systems Engineering and Modernization Office (AFPSEMO); RAdm Felipe F Bautista, Deputy Chief of Staff for C4ISTAR, J6; and Commodore Alex V Gianan, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Financial Management, AJ10.
Meanwhile, BGen Jonna D Dalaguit, Chief of AFP Medical Center, and BGen Raul J Tangco, 2nd Technical Administrative Service Brigade of the AFP Reserve Command were also promoted.
Today’s event underscores the AFP’s ongoing efforts to reinforce its leadership structure, ensuring the nation's security and defense.
