CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, awarded medals to officers and enlisted personnel during his visit to the 103rd Infantry Brigade in Marawi City on February 21.
The soldiers, who received Gold and Silver Cross medals, were cited for their role in neutralizing members of the Dawlah Islamiyah-Maute Group responsible in the bombing at the Mindanao State University last December.
“These awards symbolize their hard work, dedication, and professionalism that they showed as they served not only the people of Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur, and Lanao Del Norte, but the entire Philippines as well," General Brawner said.
"What you do here has strategic and national value and the world is watching how we address terrorism,” the CSAFP added.
