CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, checked on the morale and welfare of the troops stationed at Mavulis Island in Batanes on February 6.
He joined Secretary of National Defense Gilbert Teodoro Jr along with senior military and defense officials in assessing territorial defense capabilities and fortifications in the area.
In his message to the troops at Mavulis, he expressed his appreciation and admiration to the soldiers for their dedication to their duties and selflessness in taking on the remote assignment.
“What you’re doing here in Mavulis is essential to our territorial defense, in safeguarding our sovereignty, and in the performance of our mission as protector of the people and the state. I am very thankful to all of you,” General Brawner Jr said.
