CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, welcomed the French Ambassador to the Philippines, Her Excellency Marie Fontanel, during her courtesy visit on November 7 to the AFP General Headquarters here.
In their meeting, the two affirmed the longstanding partnership between the Philippines and France and their common obligation to uphold and enforce international law.
General Brawner also apprised the ambassador on the AFP's priorities and actions in the West Philippine Sea as he thanked the French government for its vocal support of the Philippines amid illegal actions by China in the region.
"We appreciate all the support and help that you are giving our government and our armed forces and we are looking forward to more engagements with you," the AFP chief said.
