In a clear demonstration of growing maritime cooperation among like-minded nations, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Australian Defence Force (ADF), and the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) conducted a coordinated series of naval exercises off Southwest Lubang Island, Mindoro on August 19, as part of Exercise ALON 2025.
The drill brought together key surface assets from the three nations, including the Philippine Navy’s BRP Jose Rizal (FF150), HMAS Brisbane (DDG41) of the Royal Australian Navy, and HMCS Ville de Québec (FFH 332) of the Royal Canadian Navy.
The engagement reflects a shared resolve to uphold a rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific and reinforces the commitment of the Philippines, Australia, and Canada to promote freedom of navigation, regional stability, and collective maritime security.
