EXERCISE BALIKATAN | PH-U.S. Forces Strengthen Airfield Recovery Capabilities in Cebu SMEE

Philippine and U.S. forces bolstered their airfield recovery and explosive hazard response capabilities during an Airfield Damage Repair (ADR) and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) held on April 21 at Camp Cadre in Poblacion, Medellin, Cebu, as part of Exercise Balikatan 40-2025.
The training included lectures and hands-on sessions focused on ADR familiarization, crater repair techniques, formwork installation, and crushed stone restoration. Simulation exercises followed the lectures, allowing participants to apply these skills in realistic operational scenarios.

The exchange underscored the shared commitment of Philippine and U.S. forces to enhance interoperability, improve engineering response capabilities, and ensure rapid recovery of critical infrastructure during contingency operations.
