CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Office of the Judge Advocate General, Armed Forces of the Philippines celebrated its 85th Founding Anniversary with Supreme Court Associate Justice Japar B Dimaampao as Guest of Honor and Speaker.
A ceremony was held today, 07 June 2022, at the Tejeros Hall here that highlighted the AFP’s lawyers’ contribution to the military since the establishment of the Judge Advocate General Service (JAGS) in 1935.
“I congratulate all the members of the JAGS and the members of the Office of the Judge Advocate General for the excellent service and admirable professionalism that you have faithfully rendered to the armed forces,” General Andres C Centino PA said.
The JAGS is the legal arm of the AFP and the Department of National Defense and is responsible for resolving all legal issues on real estate, personnel, retirement, appointment, separation, demotion, promotion, and procurement within AFP and DND.
“Since its establishment in 1935, judge advocates have advised their commanders on what the law is and helped them take actions within the legal bounds,” The Judge Advocate General Brig. Gen. Ser-Me L Ayuyao JAGS said.
