
CAMP GENERAL EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff General Andres C Centino PA met with Major General Manoj Kumar, other senior staff, and students of India’s National Defense College on Monday, 06 June 2022, at the General Headquarters here.
The meeting is part of a study tour aimed at providing the delegates, which included students from Sri Lanka, Uganda, Australia, Iran, and Uzbekistan; with an overview of the country’s socio-economic development, foreign policy, and security issues.
The delegates also visited the National Defense College of the Philippines today and are scheduled to tour the Headquarters of the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, and Philippine Navy tomorrow, 07 June 2022.
In their meeting, General Centino expressed his appreciation for the continued cooperation between the AFP and the Indian Armed Forces and proposed to strengthen their relationship.
He also invited the IDF to send military personnel to undergo professional military education in the AFP, through the Command and General Staff College.
The AFP and Indian Defense Force (IDF) have an existing agreement focused on military cooperation, defense and technology cooperation, high-level visits and training.
Since 2018, the AFP also sent 38 military personnel to India to undergo trainings and seminars related to peacekeeping, professional military education, defense management, training design and management, and instruction./// (Photos by: TSg Obinque PAF, A2C Castro PAF/PAOAFP)
