CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reaffirmed the readiness, reliability, and strategic value of its Reserve Force as a vital pillar of national defense during the 2025 joint Reservist National Convention and 2nd Association of Reservists and Reservist Administrators of the Philippines Incorporated (ARRAPI) General Assembly held on December 8 in Makati City.
The activity was graced by Undersecretary Pablo M. Lorenzo of the Department of National Defense, joined by AFP Vice Chief of Staff LtGen Jimmy D Larida, who emphasized the growing role of reservists in strengthening force readiness and whole-of-nation defense.
Anchored on the theme, “Adapting to an Evolving Security Environment: Reservists at the Forefront of Cooperative Defense,” the event underscored that strengthening the reserve force strengthens the entire AFP. A stronger AFP, in turn, builds a stronger, more secure, and more confident Philippines.
In his message, LtGen Larida called on reservists to remain steadfast in their service, stating, “Together, let us show the Filipino people that in every challenge, every crisis, and every threat — the AFP stands ready because the Filipino reservists stand ready.”
