CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) held the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Media and Civil Affairs Group (MCAG) and DWDD Building on December 1, marking a step toward strengthening the AFP’s strategic communication, public engagement, and information operations.
The ceremony was led by AFP Deputy Chief of Staff LtGen Rommel P Roldan, supported by LtGen Arvin R Lagamon, Commander of the AFP Civil-Military Operations Command.
LtGen Roldan emphasized the importance of investing in communication and public affairs infrastructure, noting that effective information dissemination and community engagement are vital in today’s rapidly evolving security environment. He highlighted that the new building will provide improved capability for MCAG and DWDD to deliver accurate, timely, and relevant information to the public.
The new facility will serve as a modern hub for media production, public affairs coordination, and civil-military information efforts that support the AFP’s mission to connect, inform, and engage with the Filipino people.
