CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines' Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) based in Tarlac City has dismantled three guerrilla fronts of the CPP-NPA as of 4th quarter 2022 under the leadership of Lieutenant General Ernesto Torres Jr.
NOLCOM’s intensified operations led to the reduction of CPP-NPA’s manpower and firearms with 417 communist terrorists and supporters neutralized, and 163 firearms seized.
Lt. Gen. Torres presented NOLCOM's accomplishments during the visit of AFP Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Bartolome Vicente Bacarro last Tuesday, November 8.
The Chief of Staff lauded NOLCOM's accomplishments against the communist terrorist group in Central and Northern Luzon. He also commended the unit’s humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations during recent calamities that affected the northern part of the country. The most recent was Severe Tropical Storm Paeng and the 6.4 magnitude earthquake last October.
During the traditional ‘talk to troops,’ the Chief of Staff conveyed his gratitude to the NOLCOM troops’ dedication to duty and strong teamwork, which were instrumental to the overall accomplishment of the AFP’s mission.
