PH-US Military Ties Reaffirmed During Admiral Koehler’s Courtesy Visit

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — General Romeo S Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), welcomed Admiral Stephen Koehler, Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet, during a courtesy visit held today, July 10, here.
 
During the meeting, General Brawner expressed his appreciation for the continued support of the United States, reaffirming the strength and depth of the US-PH alliance.
 
He also underscored the AFP’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a free, open, and stable Indo-Pacific through adherence to international law and a rules-based international order.
 
The meeting also served as a platform to explore further avenues for interoperability, joint training, and capacity-building under the Mutual Defense Treaty and Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement.
 
The AFP and U.S. Pacific Fleet continue to deepen strategic cooperation as both nations confront dynamic security challenges in the Indo-Pacific.
