CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) rendered traditional military honors to retiring Generals on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Fort General Gregorio del Pilar, Baguio City, in recognition of their years of service and leadership in uniform.
Lieutenant General Jimmy D. Larida PN(M), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Vice Chief of Staff, led the roster of honorees during the ceremony. Lt. Gen. Larida is due for compulsory retirement upon reaching the mandatory retirement age on March 12, 2026.
Also rendered honors were Lt. Gen. Augustine S. Malinit PAF, The Inspector General, AFP; Maj. Gen. Fabian M. Pedregosa PAF, Commander, Air Defense Command, PAF and Commander, Strategic Command, AFP; Maj. Gen. Dennis G. Estrella PAF, Commander, Air Logistics Command, PAF; Police Maj. Gen. Westrimundo D. Obinque, Director, Directorate for Comptrollership, Philippine National Police; Brig. Gen. Felix Ronnie B. Babac PA, ADC, 1st Infantry Division, PA; Brig. Gen. Charlemagne F. Batayola Jr. PA, ADC, Armor Division, PA; Brig. Gen. George P. Cabreros PA, Commander, AFP Procurement Service; Brig. Gen. Ismael P. Mandanas Jr. PA, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, AJ3, AFP; and Brig. Gen. Rocky J. Binag PAF, Commander, 5th Fighter Wing, PAF.
AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S. Brawner Jr. attended the ceremony, underscoring the institution’s respect and appreciation for the professionalism, leadership, and sacrifices of the retiring Generals who served in the AFP and the PNP.
The AFP joins the PMA community in honoring their legacy of service and thanks them for their invaluable contributions to national security and public service.
