The 51st Engineer Brigade, one of the Philippine Army’s premier engineering arms, successfully renovated and repaired the old Filipino Veterans Center inside the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) General Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Led by Brigadier General JT Bajet, the men and women of the 51EBde labored to make the old structure a towering reminder of Filipino nationalism and patriotism in time for its inauguration on April 13, 2022.
The repair and renovation of the Filipino Veterans Center were aimed at commemorating the glorious strides of the Filipino war veterans during the Second World War.
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana himself sought the assistance of the 51EBde to transform the old building into an abode that preserves and protects gallant stories of war veterans, memorabilia, and all other curation reminiscent of the war.
The Task Force Veterans, composed of construction experts, architects, and engineers, started the renovation in October 2021. Despite time constraints and the threats of the COVID19 pandemic, the project was completed in February 2022.///(Photos from 51st Engineer Brigade)
